A strong family

A strong family
02/09/2019 in Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Karaganda, a pilot project “Strong Family” has begun for parents and children 10-14 years old. This project was created by the School of Health and Social Well-being at the University of Oxford Brooks, United Kingdom, to test how productive family intervention can be in the fight against alcoholism and drug abuse, as well as in solving other problems that may arise in adolescents.
The main goal of the project is to reduce the number of family factors that subsequently cause deviations in the behavior of adolescents, as well as to promote the development of good relations between them and their parents / guardians.
The implementation of this program involves 7 meetings with parents and children once a week.
Parents who take part in the program can largely reconsider their behavior according to what they have learned in the classroom (acquiring skills such as the ability to effectively analyze the situation and the psychological state of their children, and quietly listen to the latter when they are upset). These improvements in target behavior in turn should lead to a change in the emotional qualities of the family system.
