NIS Karaganda graduate is a patriot of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an intellectually developed person who speaks several languages, and has digital competencies, flexible thinking, emotional intelligence, and is able to effectively interact with representatives of different cultures.

Definitions

Digital citizenship

A concept that defines the ability of a teacher and student to navigate in the digital space, critically analyzing information in compliance with safety and ethical standards to organize effectively the activities of the school community


Global citizenship

A concept that defines belonging to an international community, respecting the national culture of one’s country, as part of world culture, acting in the interests of sustainable development and well-being.

High quality teaching and learning

An educational process focused on the holistic development and self-actualization of students and teachers of the school based on the NIS-Program for the development of students’ initiative, responsibility, critical thinking, metacognitive skills necessary in a professional and social environment, and achieving high academic results

Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Karaganda city was opened February 1, 2013. It became the eighth consecutive Intellectual school that was run on the initiative of the Head of the State.

Intellectual school consists of three floors, fourteen blocks and is designed for 720 pupils. The type of the new school is a full day school. In the educational institution there are 62 study rooms, three extended laboratories on Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Classrooms and laboratories equipped with training equipment and furniture from Kazakhstan, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States. For children who come from another cities a dormitory with 120 beds is provided. There are two sport gyms, fitness room, a football field, a jogging track and sport courts to conduct PT lessons. To carry out cultural and leisure facilities there is an assembly hall with 350 seats. There is an extensive library, a modern media library, an information center. Also, there is a dining room for 360 seats. The educational process is aimed at maximum mastering of educational and pastoral care work. The educational process is organized by 119 local subject teachers and 9 international teachers from Great Britain, the USA, the Philippines, Canada, Kenya and Australia.
