Spiritual culture – key for transformation of the world. 
To commemorate the Day of Spiritual solidarity in the Republic of Kazakhstan, an essay competition was held at Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Karaganda city for Grades 9 to 11 students of regional schools.
Essay entries were presented in Kazakh, Russian and English languages on the themes of “Kazakhstan is a country of peace and harmony” and “Karaganda is the city of friendship and unity of the people”. The themes aimed to promote:
• patriotism, 
• friendship and tolerance among different nationalities, 
• strengthen interfaith relations and 
• civic consciousness among the youth for their city. 
Guests of honour at the awarding ceremony included representatives of the ethno-cultural associations of the region, Omarov U.A, member of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and artistic director of “Khaidak” from the national cultural center “Dagestan”; social activist from the German society center “Wiedergeburt” of Karaganda region and Shlykova O.V, artistic director of the Dance theatre “Brills-Siyanie”. 
Winners and participants were awarded with diplomas, certificates and prizes. The first place winners: 
• Grade 10 student, Kairulla Madina, of “Daryn school” (essay in Kazakh language), 
• Grade 10 student, Zarkankyzy Gulzar, of “NISK” (essay in English language), 
• Grade 10 student, Mukhtarova Assel, of “NISK” (essay in Russian language). 
Also, honorary prizes were awarded to participants from “N.Nurmakov School”, “Daryn School” and “NISK”. Performances by our guests from the society centres, “Dagestan” and “Wiedergeburt” were greeted with applause. At the end of event, teachers, competition winners and guests were awarded with certificates from the competition organizers.
